Employment in Sweden

Networking, like in most countries, is the most successful way to get a job in Sweden. Over forty percent of Swedes get new jobs through former or present job colleagues, friends and family, or other contacts. Some international clubs even have networking mixers or other events where you can meet business contacts.

The internet is today’s easiest and most popular way to getting a job. There are very few jobs in Sweden that ask you to submit a resume by regular mail these days. Many companies want you to apply directly on their site, ask you to send a resume by e-mail or request that you apply through a headhunting site. Follow up is extremely important after you have sent your resume, especially if you think they might be interested in the level of Swedish/another language that you might speak.
