Utilities options

As in most other countries properties are rented ”cold” here. That means that a number of utilities need to be subscribed to in order to have a fully functioning home.

Some, but not all utility companies will demand a Swedish Personal Number to set up services. We know which ones and can facilitate.

Apartments would normally have heat, water and garbage removal included whilst houses come without anything but the owner’s property insurance.

A couple of red flags are renters insurance that is mandatory and TV license fee which is a mandatory tax, but yet something you have to sign up for.

A list of utilities that most renters would need is;

  1. Internet
  2. Cable TV
  3. Renters Insurance
  4. Household electricity
  5. Heating
  6. Water
  7. Garbage collection
  8. TV license

There are of course additional services that can be needed such as parking and landline telephone.

Some companies work better than others while we can conclude after having worked with these companies since the 90s, they are often slow, orders are lost and it can be a challenging experience, but we are here to guide and support you to make as good as it gets.
